Life is better than death. Love; greater than either…

UPM Gangsterism

That’s what’s it called by Malaysian Opposition DAP leader, Lim Kit Siang.

Watch the video here.

I can’t help but feel sorry for the two or three ‘vicitims’ in the video. Nobody is to be subject to these kind of harrasment and humiliation. This apparently happened in UPM (Universiti Putra Malaysia), a semi-government insitituition of higher learning near Kuala Lumpur. I was just boasting it costs RM8000 (AUD2700) per annum for a vet course there (last I checked, 5 years ago). Sydney Uni charges close to AUD40,000 a year.

I don’t know.

I read a few comments here and there about it and couldn’t find anything about this ‘fracas’ on anywhere except Lim Kit Siang’s webpage and my friends’ blogs.

According to Lim’s website, the Chinese students were apparently branded ‘anti-establishment’ and the Malay students (the shouting ones); UPM Student Council ‘pro-establishment’ leaders.

This might be an isolated event but again, I don’t know. All I know is if students, which are the cream of the crop of nations, subject themselves to these kind of taunting and scaring tactics, what more could be said of their lesser educated brothers? Wouldn’t they be worse?

Or has education bored them into becoming hooligans?

Till next time…
God bless!

P.S. Ok, found this on a pro-government newspaper. Carefully written indeed.
