Life is better than death. Love; greater than either…

SATURDAY!

What a beautiful Saturday it was!

King St, Newtown

Took a leisurely drive to pick SernLi up from his place then went to pick Anne and Bonnie for brunch. It’s pretty cool just ‘forcing’ your way into student accomodation sometimes. Haha of course, SernLi did all the ‘persuading’. Anne was not feeling very well *AHEM* but had the energy to story us about her whole Friday. Bonnie was more cool… and joined us for a very meaningful brunch at Urban Bites! hehe

I shared with them something I learnt over the week just opening up the Word of God and I definitely think there’s power in meeting with fellow Christians and just doing what God intended for brothers and sisters in Christ to do; to encourage each other in the walk and just to reaffirm each other and to reflect upon what God has bestowed upon our lives.

I shared with them 1 Corinthians 1… Specifically verses 22 – 25.

Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.

This wasn’t written a few years ago or even in the 1950s or 1970s, this was written almost 2000 years ago. There we have the same forces that oppose Christians as we have today. “Jews” who demand ‘proof’ that God exists and “Greeks” who supposedly look for wisdom. We all know how people like that look like in modern times…

But the wise man surrenders the little he has in exchange for the greatness of God. I think it takes more guts surrendering to God than to ‘take charge of your own life’. And in that the adventure begins but with the sureness of a loving Father…

This dissection of the chapter is still in seed form so whoever has comments, do share.

God bless!
